The Blades Residence, located in Santa Barbara, California, proposed its design to be environmentally suitable by using the existing landscape. Thus saying so, this is produced by entwining both interior and exterior space. The home does not exhibit some of its areas through using different shapes and forms, which gives a more private and discreet feeling to its inhabitants. The ground level of the residence is generally designed as a public area for guests of the family while the upper floor, which have the bedrooms, are positioned to have more of a private area for residential quarters. The design of the building insists the activities to be held into the central area which has the fireplace, in that way the open plan living of the home is not restricted within the interior space, but it also extends towards the exterior area to give a better experience towards the clients.
